En particular se evaluar\u00e1n mecanismos como ECN (explicit congestion communication), los diferentes indicadores de calidad de servicios de RTCP (real-time control protocol) y SRTCP (secured RTCP), los tiempos de paquetizaci\u00f3n ptime y los codecs adaptativos (principalmente OPUS y\/o SILK). El objetivo es aprovechar las capacidades de adaptaci\u00f3n de estos mecanismos para optimizar los tiempos de transmisi\u00f3n y reducir la latencia de este tipo de comunicaciones, logrando un mayor aprovechamiento de las capacidades de las redes de \u00faltima generaci\u00f3n.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Explicit Congestion Notification (ECN), o notificaci\u00f3n por congesti\u00f3n expl\u00edcita, es una extensi\u00f3n al Internet Protocol (IP) y al Transmission Control Protocol (TCP) ya definida en 2001.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>ECN se dise\u00f1\u00f3 en un principio para la detecci\u00f3n de congesti\u00f3n en el tr\u00e1fico IP sin tener que descartar paquetes, informando a la red con bastante rapidez si \u00e9ste existiese. Sin embargo, su uso se descart\u00f3 en su momento, ya que las redes IP no comunicaban una cantidad de datos grande, ni con unos requisitos de velocidad\/baja latencia tan exigentes como ocurre actualmente.
